HOW DO I SIGN UP?
- Go to our website, https://vixster.com
- Create an account.
- Once you account is created, choose your subscription plan.
- Input any special instructions for your location or your trash/recycling.
- Check out and process your payment.
- Once you have checked out, a Vixster team member will reach out via email with your pickup day and the date your pickups will start!
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO GET MY TRASH AND RECYCLING READY FOR PICKUP?
Please be sure to bag all trash and recycling! Clearly separate trash from recycling. Recycling can be placed in a recycling tote. If you do not have a tote, then please be sure that recycling is clearly marked. If you have a rolling bin, place trash in rolling bin at the end of your road/driveway. If you are not able to place trash and recycling at the end of your road or driveway, please indicate in the notes section (on registration form) where your trash bin and recycling will be located.
DO I NEED TO SORT MY OWN RECYCLING?
- Sorted recycling makes the job safe and easy for our drivers. We require that recycling be sorted before our driver arrives to collect your items.
- Please sort your recycling into four categories: Paper, plastic, glass and aluminum.
- Please also bag each category and place the bags into your recycling container.
DO I HAVE TO USE VIXSTER TRASH BINS/RECYCLING TOTES?
No. You do not have to use our bins and totes. We actually prefer and strongly recommend that you use your own bins and totes. By using what you already have, you can help reduce the carbon footprint in the High Country! Your options for bins/totes are as follows:
- You can use your own trash bin and recycling bin. (Highly recommended/preferred).
- You can purchase bins from Vixster, and we will deliver them to you. If you would like to purchase a trash bin from Vixster, please give us a call.
- *Note- You can get a free recycling bin from the waste and sanitation transfer station on Landfill Road!
IF I HAVE A SUBSCRIPTION, IS THERE A LIMIT TO THE NUMBER OF BAGS VIXSTER WILL COLLECT EACH WEEK?
Yes. We will collect up to eight bags of trash or recycling per week for subscriptions that require weekly pickups. Bi-weekly subscriptions are also limited to eight bags of trash or recycling per pickup.
WHY IS TRASH PICKUP THE SAME PRICE AS TRASH AND RECYCLING PICKUP?
Trash pickup is the same price as trash and recycling pickup to promote recycling and sustainability efforts in our community.
WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY SERVICE OR MOVE MY SERVICE TO A NEW LOCATION?
If you need to cancel or move service to a new location, please give us a call or send us an email and we can update your account accordingly.
AFTER I HAVE SIGNED UP, CAN I CHANGE MY SUBSCRIPTION LENGTH?
Yes, please give us a call and we can update your account. For example, if you currently have a quarterly subscription, we can change it to an annual subscription once you quarterly subscription expires.
WHAT IF I HAVE MORE THAN THE 8 BAGS OF TRASH AND RECYCLING FOR MY PICKUP?
If you have more than 8 bags of trash and recycling on your pickup day, please give us a call and we can schedule a one-time pickup for your location.
IS A CARD REQUIRED TO SET UP A TRASH AND RECYCLING SUBSCRIPTION WITH VIXSTER?
Yes, we do require our customers pay with a card due to the requirements of our payment processing system.
WHEN DO I NEED TO HAVE MY TRASH AND RECYCLING OUT ON MY PICKUP DAY?
Please have your trash out no later than 8am on your pickup day. Our haulers are completing their routes throughout the day, and your pickup time may vary anytime between 8am and 8pm.
WHY DO I NEED TO BAG MY TRASH AND RECYCLING?
We ask our customers to bag their trash and recycling to ensure that no items are falling out of our haulers trucks, and to ensure that your recycling is deposited at the correct location in the recycling center.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I SIGN UP?
After you sign up with Vixster, a team member will reach out to via the email you provided with your pickup day along with the date when your pickups will start. The email will also include Vixster’s policies regarding holidays, unbagged trash and inclement weather.
HOW QUICKLY CAN VIXSTER START SERVICING MY LOCATION?
Vixster can start servicing your location within 1 week. After signing up, we will send you an email with your pickup day and the date when your pickups will start.
ARE YOUR DRIVERS INSURED?
Yes, our drivers are fully insured with their own auto coverage. Vixster and all other risks pertaining to Vixster are fully insured and covered. Our drivers are vetted with background checks, motor vehicle reports, and many other criteria to ensure they are qualified for the job.
DOES VIXSTER STORE MY CREDIT CARD INFORMATION?
No. Vixster does not store any of your credit card information. Your payment information will be processed only by Stripe- a widely trusted and secure online payment processor.
WHAT DO I DO IF I HAVE MISCELLANEOUS OR HAZARDOUS WASTE? WHAT TYPES OF ITEMS WILL YOU ACCEPT?
We will accept almost anything! If you have hazardous waste or miscellaneous items, please contact us here:https://vixster.com/contact and we will respond with a quote. After reviewing the quote, if you choose to move forward with our services, you will be invoiced by Vixster through the email address that you provided.
WHAT ARE WATAUGA COUNTY’S RECYCLING REGULATIONS?
WHAT ARE THE HOLIDAYS THAT VIXSTER DOES NOT OPERATE?
Vixster does not operate on the following holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Easter and Fourth of July.
WHAT IF THERE IS HAZARDOUS WEATHER ON MY PICKUP DAY?
In the event of hazardous or dangerous weather conditions, Vixster may choose to cancel routes for that given day. In the event a route is cancelled, all customers on the cancelled route will be notified via email. Vixster will be happy to take any additional trash that you have on your next regularly scheduled pickup day.
Do YOU ADD ON ANY ADDITIONAL FEES TO YOUR PRICING?
No, the pricing that you see on our website is our complete pricing. There are no additional fees or taxes that are added.
